Software as a Service (SaaS)

On Apps.gov, under Business Apps and Productivity Apps we offer many different types of Software as a Service (SaaS) solutions for agencies to procure.

Currently, all of the SaaS solutions on Apps.gov are self-identified SaaS solutions by Schedule 70 holders (vendors and resellers). All of the solutions are available through Schedule 70 and on GSA Advantage!. Apps.gov provides a centralized marketplace for these SaaS offerings so Federal agencies and customers can easily identify and compare cloud offerings.

All vendors who have their SaaS solutions on Apps.gov have certified and must provide the ability to verify that their solutions meet two requirements:

1.    They meet the NIST defined 5 “Essential Characteristics of Cloud Computing"; and

2.    The services meet the NIST Service Model definition for SaaS.

Currently, the SaaS offerings of Apps.gov cover different solutions like CRM, Analytics, Asset Management, Knowledge Management, Document and Content Management.
