The Challenge At DOE’s Los Alamos National Laboratory, scientists needed faster, more agile resource deployment in order to meet expanding processing and storage demands.

The Solution Los Alamos launched Infrastructure On-Demand, a web-based portal that allows real-time, self-service for requesting and provisioning virtual servers.

  • $1.4 million in cost savings
  • 100 physical servers decommissioned
  • 300 virtual machines deployed on 13 physical host servers
