Project: Gig Content Delivery Service (GCDS)
DISA Deploys GCDS to Promote Worldwide Application Use and Reduce Infrastructure
The Challenge
Worldwide distribution of application users and owners requires additional infrastructure and the ability to reach across the network to access user content. File storage is limited and high bandwidth is required for file transfer to remote locations.
The Solution
Use a Gig Content Delivery Service (GCDS) to allow for global application and file access without a reliance on network access or origin servers.
Projected Results
- A DISA customer avoided installation of 500 servers worldwide by using GCDS.
- Offload up to 90% of the hits from data center infrastructure.
- Global Traffic Management allows web application owners to load balance their application across the world.
- Large files can be located at global locations with the NetStorage enhancement.
